Eveline Gerbranda - Trade Marketeer

As a Trade Marketeer, Eveline is the link between our suppliers and Van den Borne. Her role is to position our products as effectively as possible in the market.

What is your role at Van den Borne and what does it involve?

My role at Van den Borne is Trade Marketeer. We represent a large number of A-brand suppliers whose products we sell to our B2B customers. From a marketing perspective, I act as the link between our suppliers and our company. It is important to position our products correctly per country, per channel, and for specific target groups. A good example is the launch of new products. When a new product enters the market, I ensure it is introduced properly through promotions, customer communication, sales support materials, and by monitoring sales performance.

What do you want to achieve in this role?

I really enjoy adding commercial value for our suppliers, customers, and colleagues. Ultimately, this contributes to optimal sales results, which support the overarching goal of our company.

How did you end up at Van den Borne?

I live in Valkenswaard myself, and the building with the distinctive elephant always caught my attention when I drove past. I often thought it must be a great company to work for. When a suitable vacancy became available, I knew I had to apply.

What do you like most about Van den Borne?

Van den Borne is a dynamic company that is constantly evolving. There is plenty of room for personal initiative, so no two days are the same. We also work with short communication lines, which allows for quick collaboration between departments. Everyone is willing to help and support each other, which I find very important.

Do you mainly work alone or in a team?

I almost always work in a team. I enjoy working with people, which is exactly what makes my job so enjoyable. I collaborate with colleagues from marketing, purchasing, and sales, and I am also in contact with our suppliers. It’s a very diverse role.

How long have you been working at Van den Borne?

I have been working at Van den Borne since January 2023, so I am still learning every day.

What did you do before joining Van den Borne?

I always aspired to work in marketing, but first spent three and a half years as an account manager in field sales. That period was extremely valuable and still benefits me today. Sales experience is very important in a marketing-related role. Over the past 14 years, I have held various marketing positions at different companies, with a preference for working with physical products.

Would you recommend Van den Borne to people around you?

Yes, absolutely. It is a growing company where you can really make a difference. There is a strong work ethic, but also room for humor. Several times a year, social activities are organized, allowing you to connect with colleagues in a different way. That makes Van den Borne a great company to work for.
